so...im excited to announce that my peony bush has started blooming...one of the perks of living in tennessee rather than mississippi is that you can actually grow peonies here- im obsessed. i have been waiting for them to open for weeks, and let me tell you, they do not disappoint. i cut a few for my mom for mother's day (jane, you would have gotten some too if you lived here...)- they are HUGE and they smell amazing and they are mostly white with light pink around the edges...im just amazed every time i look at them.
i told you i was obsessed...

Just beautiful..I could not agree more....I do not know if God has created another flower quite as gorgeous in every way...if it's out there I would like to know about it....I have put bushes out in my yard only to realize that they do not bloom the first year....so I have been admiring the green leaves and already been dreaming of the blooms for next year....am I obsessed?....and the sweet bush that did for some reason put out 2 beautiful white blooms was so hallowed that I am sure I will grieve when the 2 blooms are gone....yes, I am also obsessed....do you think that it is all of those "peony-less" years in Mississippi that does this to us??!!!I am a proud member of your peony club....
Gorgeous! Those are my favorite too!
I'm so jealous! My mom brought me peony plants last April for me to try and grow...in Mobile!!! We looked up what I'd have to do to coerce blooms and the directions were to "water with ice water every morning in fall and winter to 'trick' the plants into thinking they are in a colder climate."
I didn't grow peonies. I'm so glad you can, though!
